Bahai Faith: Incompatible With Christianity

The religion of Bahaism seeks to unify all religions of the world together under One True God. Bahai believes that the earth, but one country and mankind its citizens. Bahai teaches that it is the fulfillment of Judaism, Buddhism, Islam, Zoroastrianism, Hinduism and Christianity and it borrows from each of these faiths to reach its homogenized doctrines. The Bahai religious practices are similar to Islam and like Moslems, members are expected to pray at certain times during the day and make at least one “Mecca” to the holy land (the temple in Acre, Haifa, Israel). Believers in Bahai deny the atonement of the Cross of Calvary and accept the belief that Jesus is only one of nine manifestations of God.

“The Promised One of all the world’s peoples hath now been made manifest. For each and every people and every religion, await a Promised One and Baha’u’llah is that One Who is awaited by all; and therefore the Cause of Baha’u’llah will bring about the oneness of mankind …” Bahai Purpose

Baha’u’llah regards the description of Heaven and Hell given in some of the older religious writings as symbolic … and not literally true. Bahai Basic

On no point is the Bahai faith more categorical than in asking the believer to refrain from fault-finding and backbiting Bahai Definition

The religion of God is the One Religion and all the Prophets have taught it, but it is a living and a growing thing, not lifeless and unchanging. In the teaching of Moses we see the Bud; in that of Christ the Flower; in that of Baha’u’llah the Fruit. The flower does not destroy the bud, nor does the fruit destroy the flower. It destroys not, but fulfills. Were the bud and … petals wrong or useless …? As I approach the subject of the incompatible of the Bahai faith with Christianity, let’s examine the Bahai faith’s proposition of being the potluck of all the world’s religions.

1) Bahai faith suggests that it is the fulfillment of Judaism, Buddism, Islam, Zoroastrianism, Hinduism and Christianity. Upon a closer look at each of these perspective religions, the reader will see that these faiths are diametrically opposed to each other with the exception of Christianity being the fulfillment of Judaism.

2) All the religions including the ones mentioned with the exception of Christianity are religions based on the works of each individual to obtain their own salvation whereas Christianity is based on salvation being provided for through the shed blood of Jesus Christ for the fallen state of mankind.

3) All the religions mentioned have a different God and they are all creatures born in history with the exception of Judaism and Christianity.

Let’s consider some of the statements of the Holy Scriptures of the Bible and see if they are exclusive in nature and debunk the philosophy of the Bahai faith:

THE GOD OF THE BIBLE IS THE ONLY ONE AND THERE IS NO OTHER SAVIOUR

Isaiah 43:10 - 11 “You are My witnesses,” declares the LORD, “And My servant whom I have chosen, in order that you may know and believe Me and understand that I am He. Before Me there was no God formed and there will be none after Me. I, even I, am the LORD; and there is no saviour besides Me.”

Isaiah 44:6 “Thus says the LORD, the King of Israel and His Redeemer, the LORD of hosts: I am the first and I am the last and there is no God besides Me.”

JESUS IS NOT “A” WAY OR TRUTH OR LIFE, BUT “THE” WAY, TRUTH AND LIFE

John 14:6 “Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way and the truth and the life; no one comes to the Father, but through Me.”

MANKIND ONLY DIES ONCE, THUS NO REINCARNATION

Hebrews 9:27 “And inasmuch as it is appointed for men to die once and after this comes judgment.”

JESUS PREPARES A PLACE FOR HIS PEOPLE IN A LITERAL HEAVEN

John 14:2 – 3 “In My Father’s house are many dwelling places; if it were not so, I would have told you; for I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.”

RICH MAN SUFFERING IN TORMENT IN A LITERAL ETERNAL HELL

Luke 16:23 “And in Hades he lifted up his eyes, being in torment and saw Abraham far away and Lazarus in his bosom.”

Matthew 25:46 “And these will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.”

Mark 9:44, 46, 48 “Where their worm does not die and the fire is not quenched.”

GOD’S FINAL REVELATION IS IN HIS SON

Hebrews 1:1 -2 “God, after He spoke long ago to the fathers in the prophets in many portions and in many ways, in these last has spoken to us in His Son, whom He appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the world.”

ONLY ONE GOSPEL MESSAGE FOR MANKIND

Jude 1:3 “Beloved, while I was making every effort to write you about our common salvation, I felt the necessity to write to you appealing that you contend earnestly for the faith which was once for all delivered to the saints.”

As we have seen, Christianity stands alone on its own merits. It is NOT compatible with any other religion and therefore Bahai isn’t a fulfillment of Christianity as the Bahai faith suggests. Because of Christianity’s uniqueness, all other faiths are false and lead their followers into deception including the Bahai faith.
